Research

Summary

To kickstart the project, I conducted thorough research and created empathy maps to better understand the needs and pain points of moviegoers. Through surveys and interviews, I identified a primary user group: young adults who frequented movie theatres but expressed apprehension about safety measures amidst the pandemic. While safety was a significant concern, it became apparent that other factors, such as long queues at the snack counter, also impacted the overall movie theatre experience. These insights were invaluable in shaping the direction of the project.

Pain Points

1

Safety Concerns

Amidst the pandemic, maintaining social distancing in theaters poses a challenge, raising safety concerns among patrons.

2

Queue length at Snack Counters

Lengthy queues at snack counters during intermissions often result in moviegoers missing parts of the film, detracting from the overall viewing experience.

3

Ordering Delays

Current ordering methods, such as scanning QR codes, necessitate waiting until the theatre lights are switched on, leading to delays in placing snack orders and disrupting the seamless enjoyment of the movie.

User Journey

Goal:  To have delicious snacks without missing even a single minute of movie . To spend time with co-movie enthusiastic friends.

Reflection

The journey of creating a solution to enhance the movie theatre experience through a snack ordering app has been both rewarding and enlightening. Through extensive research and empathetic understanding of user needs, I uncovered key pain points faced by moviegoers, including safety concerns, queue lengths at snack counters, and ordering delays. This process allowed me to gain valuable insights into the intricacies of the movie theatre experience and the challenges associated with it, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The design and development phase challenged me to translate these insights into tangible solutions that prioritize user convenience, safety, and enjoyment. Crafting the SnackEase app involved meticulous attention to detail, iterative testing, and a commitment to delivering a seamless user experience. The positive reception and success of SnackEase underscored the importance of empathetic design and the transformative power of technology in addressing real-world challenges.

Next Steps

User Feedback: Continuously gathering feedback from users will be crucial in identifying areas for improvement and iterating on the app's features and functionality.

Partnerships: Collaborating with movie theatre chains to integrate Bingewatch seamlessly into their operations and marketing strategies can enhance its reach and impact.

Enhanced Features: Exploring additional features such as personalized recommendations, loyalty programs, and in-app promotions can further enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

Accessibility: Ensuring the app is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, through features such as screen reader compatibility and inclusive design practices.

Market Expansion: Expanding the reach of SnackEase to new markets and regions, both domestically and internationally, can tap into new opportunities for growth and expansion.
